Welcome to the Foster Care Chamber of Commerce, where community and compassion build brighter futures. You don’t have to be a superhero to make a difference. You just need heart, commitment, and the right support.
Below are 4 meaningful ways to get involved, plus fun facts, myth-busters, and quick steps to help you take action today.

1. Foster Parent:
Cares for children or teens full-time when they can’t live with their biological families.

2. Respite Parent:
Provides short-term care (a few hours to a few days) to give foster parents a break.

3. Kinship Parent:
A relative or close family friend who steps in to care for a child they already know.

4. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate):
A trained volunteer who supports and speaks up for a child’s best interests in court.

Ready To Begin Your Journey 

1. Become a Foster Parent

Role: Provide a safe, stable, and loving home for children or teens temporarily placed in foster care.
Commitment: Full-time caregiving, often until reunification, adoption, or until the youth turns 18.

Myth: “You have to be married or own a big house.”
Fact: Foster parents can be single, LGBTQ+, renters, homeowners, or live in apartments.

2. Become a Respite Parent

Commitment: Flexible — you choose the days.
